Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent exposure of the electric equipment of a burner to combustion gas right after the stop of combustion of a burner and to provide an increased life for the electric equipment, by a method wherein an increase in temperature is detected by means of a burner thermo situated on the windward side of a combustion part and operation of a blower is started. CONSTITUTION:A burner thermo 18 situated to a baffle plate 16 slightly on the windward side of a nozzle 7 in a draft tube 6 is provided. Thus, the burner thermo 18 is prevented from being splashed with liquid fuel, and when, right after the stop of operation of a hot water feed device 31, the open air reversely flows in an exhaust cylinder 32 and high temperature combustion gas reversely flows in the draft tube 6, the burner thermo 18 detects an increase in temperature in the draft tube 6 in a short time. Through operation of a blower 5, the open air is fed in the draft tube 6, and reversely flowing combustion gas is pushed out. A high voltage cord 8a connected to an ignition plug 8 and a photo transistor T situated to the blower 5 are prevented from being exposed to combustion gas, and as a result, seizure and disconnection due to heating are prevented from occurring, and an increased life is provided.
