Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently measure a working/open current value of a practical shape, by using a C-shaped yoke having a measuring coil wound around the intermediate part thereof to directly apply magnetic flux to a reed terminal bent into an L-shape. CONSTITUTION:When the end surfaces of a C-shaped yoke 2 are brought into contact with the lead-out parts of the reed terminals 11 of a reed switch 1 from a glass tube 12 in opposed relationship, a magnetic circuit is formed from the yoke 2 and the reed pieces 10 of the reed switch and the magnetic flux generated by supplying a current to a measuring coil 3 passes through the reed switch 1 in a predetermined ratio to generate magnetic attraction force in the gap between contacts. The magnetic attraction force overcomes the elasticity of the reed pieces 10 by a specific current value to close the contacts and the closing of the contacts is detected by a measuring element 4 monitoring the continuity between reed terminals and the current value of the measuring coil at this time becomes a working current. Next, when the current value is reduced, the contacts are opened at a predetermined value and the current value at this time is calculated as an open current value.
