Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the attraction force of an iron core without increasing the size of the device by making a second excitation coil while winding a lead wire connecting a movable contact piece to a movable contact terminal around the iron core in the same direction with an excitation coil. CONSTITUTION:A movable contact piece 17 is connected to a movable contact terminal 21 provided on a base 1 through a lead wire 20 connected to one end of the piece 17. The lead wire 20 comprises an insulated conductive wire material and is wound around an excitation coil 11 in the same direction with the winding direction to form a second excitation coil. When a movable contact 16 contacts to a fixed contact 18 to bring ON condition, an making current flows simultaneously in the lead wire 20 to generate an electric field to increase the attraction force of an iron core 13. Hence, the outer size of an electromagnet 3 does not increase to prevent the size of a device from increasing.
