Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect a position while reducing erroneous operation due to disturbance, by a method wherein a plurality of sonic wave receivers are arranged on the same plane so as to be spaced apart from each other by a definite distance and a pulse like sonic wave signal is transmitted from the transmitter moving on the surface known in the vertical distance from said plane and the difference between the times when respective sonic wave receivers receive the sonic wave at first is calculated. CONSTITUTION:A transmitter T1 is mounted on the unmanned vehicle 1 running on a floor surface and sonic wave receives S1-S3 are arranged to the ceiling having a height (h) from the transmitter T1 so as to be spaced apart from each other by a definite distance. Then, the transmitter T1 is driven for an arbitrary time by a tone burst wave signal to transmit a pulse like sonic wave signal. When the signal is received by either one of the receives, the receiving point of time is set 0 and the time difference until the other receivers receive the signal at first is measured by a time measuring means. Then, the relative positions of the transmitter T1 from a plurality of the receivers are detected. Therefore, without taking the synchronism of the transmission of the transmitter T1 and the reception of the receives S1-S3, the position of the transmitter T1 can be measured while erroneous operation due to disturbance is reduced.
