Abstract
PURPOSE:To stabilize the light intensity of a fundamental wave incident on a wavelength converting element and to stabilize the light intensity of a 2nd higher harmonic by arranging a semiconductor laser and the light wave converting element at a distance where laser light resonates externally. CONSTITUTION:The light wavelength converting element 30 of a light wavelength conversion module 10 is so arranged that its one end surface 30a faces the semiconductor laser 20 across an objective 22. Then laser light 21 which is emitted by the semiconductor laser 20 as the fundamental wave is converged by the objective 22 and projected on the core end surface 31a of the light wavelength converting element 30. In this case, when the resonator length l1 of the semiconductor laser 20 is set to, for example, 300mum and the distance l2 between one reflecting surface 20a of a resonator and one end surface 30a of the light wavelength converting element 30 is set to 1.275mum, the longitudinal mode of the semiconductor laser 20 is made single to obtain a stable laser light output 21, thereby obtaining the 2nd higher harmonic with stable intensity.
