Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the impact strength of a front fender, by a method wherein the main part of a fender, gradually increased in thickness, is connected to an arch-shaped part and a rear end part. CONSTITUTION:A front fender F is secured to a car body assembly body B so that it constitutes a part of a car body, and is adapted to cover the upper surface of a front wheel Wf. The front fender F consists of a thickened arch part 1 which extends along the upper surface of the front wheel Wf and is longitudinally formed in a beltlike shape, a thickened rear end part 2 which is positioned on the front pillar Pf side of the car body assembly body B and is formed in a beltlike shape, and a main body part 3 of the fender which is a portion except the arch-shaped part 1 and the rear end part 2 and is more thinned than those parts. The main part 3 of the fender, gradually increased in thickness, is connected to the arch-shaped part 1 and the rear end part 2.
