。An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. FIG. 1 is a vertical sectional view of the hoistway of the elevator system of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a plan view of the hoistway. In the figure, 1 is the elevator hoistway, 2 is the machine room, and there are 2
Each set of elevators 3 and 4 is provided. 3a
is a car of the elevator 3, and 3b is a counterweight, which are connected by a hoisting rope 3c and driven up and down by a hoisting machine 3d. 3e is a guide rail for the heel 3a, and 3f is a guide rail for the counterweight 3b. Also, 4a to 4f are the other elevators 4, 3&~
These devices are compatible with 3F. 3g is a cage portion of the elevator 3, and 4g is a cage portion of the elevator 4, and as shown in the figure, both ascend and descend on the same vertical line 5. 6 is an elevator landing, and the heel 3a of the elevator 3 serves between the bottom floor 6a and the landing one floor below the top floor 6c, and the foot 4a of the elevator 4 serves the landing one floor above the bottom floor. Service is provided between 6b and the top floor 6d. Here, as is clear from FIGS. 1 and 2, the ropes 3c and 4c are provided at positions where they do not interfere with the heels 3a and 4a, respectively, so that they do not interfere with the ascent and descent. Also, each heel 3a and 4a
Of course, they are controlled and operated by electric circuits to prevent collisions, but in the unlikely event that an electric circuit breaks down,
A buffer 7 is provided to ensure safety even if there is a malfunction.

を有する。As explained above, this invention installs two sets of elevators in a single hoistway, and prevents the ropes and other winding bodies for driving each elevator from interfering with other cars. Since two sets of elevator cars can be moved up and down within a single hoistway, this has the excellent effect of reducing the installation space for elevators in a building.
