Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a damping composite Mg material with high damping capacity, strength and wear resistance by dispersing a specified percentage of graphite powder and a ceramic material in the eutectic matrix of a hypoeutectic damping Mg alloy.
CONSTITUTION: One or more among, by wt., 1W20% Ni, 1W25% Cu, 1W30% Sb, 1W11% Ba, 1W18% Ce, 2W10% La, 1W20% Pu and 1W15% Sr which are hardly soluble in soluble Mg are added to Mg to obtain a hypoeutectic Mg alloy. To the eutectic matrix of the alloy are added 1W8wt% graphite powder and 1W15wt% ceramic material, and they are mixed and dispersed. As the ceramic material ≥1 kinds among Al2O3, ZrO3, MgO, SiO2, Y2O3, SiC, WC, B4C, TiC, Si3N4, TiN, AlN, Zr2B, NbB and AlB2 are used.
