Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a composite wire for welding having superior weldability and cracking resistance by filling the flux consisting essentially of specific ratios of TiO2, C, Si, Mn, Cr, Mo, Al in a metallic sheath. CONSTITUTION:The flux consisting essentially of 1.8-6.0% TiO2, based on the total weight of the wire, <=0.20% C, <=0.5% Si, 1.0-8.0% Mn, 0.5-3.0% Cr, <=1.0% Mo, and <=0.7% Al, and if necessary contg. one kind of metallic powder which is applied in the form of nitride so as to contain 0.006-0.015% N, is filled in a metallic sheath, whereby the wire is prepd. Usually, mild steel is used for the metallic sheath of the wire. The flux to be filled in the wire is set at about 10- 25% by the weight of the wire, and the diameter of the wire is preferably below about 2.0mm.phi.
