Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled covering material having excellent parallel ray transmission and heat retaining properties, by method wherein a polyvinyl chloride resin compound is blended with a composite oxide having a refractive index approximately equal to that of said compound and consisting of SiO2 and a metal oxide, and the mixture is molded into a film.
CONSTITUTION: 2W40pts.wt. composite oxide consisting of SiO2 and at least one metal oxide selected from the oxides of metals of Groups II, III and IV of the Periodic Table, is blended with 100pts.wt. polyvinyl chloride resin or polymer compound thereof. In the above blending, the compositions os said compound and said composite oxide are chosen so as to give a ratio of nA to nB within a range of 0.98W 1.02, wherein nA is a refractive index of a film produced from said compound and nB is that of said composite oxide. Then the resulting compsn. is molded into a film to produce the desired agricultural covering material.
