Abstract

CONSTITUTION: In a rotary type coater in which a coating liquid from a nozzle 8 is dropped onto the surface of a plate 5 being turned horizontally inside a coating chamber 3 so as to form paint film on the surface of the plate 5, a cleaned inert gas is supplied into the coating chamber 3 from a gas supply port 8 and also air and gas inside the coating chamber 3 are sucked up from an exhaust port 11 to form an upward forced gas flow inside the coating chamber 3. Thus, since the settling and adherence of floating liquid droplets to the surface to be coated can be prevented, uniform paint film can be formed effectively.
