Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the generation of NOx by a structure wherein fuel injection holes formed at the front end of a fuel injection pipe are positioned at corresponding positions to a plurality of secondary air supply pipes and further tilted forward by a specified angle with respect to the axial line of the fuel injection pipe.
CONSTITUTION: The fuel injection holes 11W13 formed at the front end of the fuel injection pipe 3 are positioned at corresponding positions to three or four secondary air supply pipes 4W6, and further tilted forward by the angle of θ1/2 with respect to the axial line of the fuel injection pipe 3, so that the jet stream of the fuel intersects the jet stream of the secondary air supplied from the secondary air supply pipes 4W6. This enables a complete combustion of the fuel injected from the fuel injection pipe 3 by the secondary air supplied from the secondary air supply pipes 4W6. Accordingly, a small filmlike flame 15 of a thickness t is formed. Further, the flame 15 involves combustion gas as indicated by arrows in solid line. Therefore, there is no possibility to produce partial rising-up of temperature in the flame 15, which ensures a stable combustion of the fuel.
