Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an electrically conductive resin compsn. producing molded products which show good adhesion to plating and can be electroplated directly, by adding carbon black and thiuram sulfide compd. to a thermosetting resin containing a phenolic resin and a base material.
CONSTITUTION: The compsn. consists of 10W40wt% carbon black, 0.1W3wt% sulfur, 0.1W3wt% thiuram sulfide compd. of formulaI(where R1WR4 are 1W13C aliphatic hydrocarbon residue; x is 1W4) and the balance of a thermosetting resin containing a phenolic resin and a base material, and has a resistivity of 500Ω/cm or lower. Conductive carbon black is esp. preferred because of its well- balanced electric conductivity and flow characteristics. When the carbon black content exceeds 40wt%, the compsn. becomes too hard and shows poor rheological properties at an injection molding temp. and when the content is less than 10%, electric resistance increases too high leading to poor plating.
