Abstract

PURPOSE:To control diffusion of In into WO3, by allowing a display electrode formed by laminating an In2O3 layer, an SnO2 layer having specified thickness, and a WO3 layer on a substrate to face an opposite electrode through an electrolytic solution. CONSTITUTION:A display electrode formed by laminating a conductive In2O3 layer 2, a 10-60nm thick SnO2 layer 3, and a WO3 layer 4 on a glass substrate is allowed to face an opposite electrode 6 through an electrolytic solution 7, thus permitting WO3 not to come into direct contact with In2O3, but diffusion of indium into WO3 to be controlled, therefore, the obtained electrochromic device to have long life and high storage stability.
