Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture plural hot strip products having different kinds highly efficiently, by parallelly arranging a roller guide type continuous casting equipment and a rotary belt type continuous-casting equipment in the same hot rolling line. CONSTITUTION:A continuously cast slab from a roller guide type continuous casting equipment is cut to a fixed length by a torch-cutting device 12, and the cut slab is charged into a heating furnace 15 to be heated to 1,200 deg.C, and then the heated slab is fed to a hot strip rolling line, consisting of a group 17 of roughing mills, a crop shear 18, and a finishing mill 19, through a table 16 located at the exit side of the furnace 15. Special steel and high class steel are treated by rolling in this system, on the other hand, comparatively low class ordinary steel is formed into a continuously cast slab by a belt type continuous casting equipment 21 having high casting speed, and is cut to a fixed length by a shearing machine 22, and then the cut slab is fed to said rolling line being kept as it is by utilizing its high temp. directly after the continuous casting; thus the different kinds of hot strips are manufactured efficiently.
