Abstract
PURPOSE:To directly couple cast strands and rolling installations and to achieve less energy and higher productivity by gas cutting the plural cast strands, and directly feeding these to the hot rolling installations by means of dolly and conveying table. CONSTITUTION:Plural strands are cast simultaneously with plural units of continuous casting installations 1, and are cut to prescribed lengths with gas cutting installations 2 provided to each of the respective intallations 1a, 1b. The unit ingots 3 are conveyed onto transfer tables 10 which is provided so as to be directly coupled to the ingot moving dolly 4 by means of said dolly 4. The ingots 3 are passed through hot rolling installations consisting of roughing mills 11a and finishing mills 11b directly coupled to the tables 10, whereby they are rolled. If in this way the plural cast strands and the rolling insatllations are coupled directly, the high temps. right affter the continuous casting are maintained and the drop of the temp. during conveyance is prevented effectively.
