Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve combustion efficiency under a light load and at a low speed zone and starting performance during cold starting by inserting a heat pipe in a fuel injection path where a fuel injection nozzle is installed. CONSTITUTION:A heat pipe 10 is inserted so that its aperture faces the inside of a minor combustion chamber 1 and a ring-shaped gap 11 is provided toward the interior of a fuel injection path 9. Holes 13 are bored at optimum places on the circumference of the heat pipe 10, and a glow plug 8 is projected near the aperture of the heat pipe 10 in the minor combustion chamber 1. Accordingly, less fuel clings to the inner wall of the minor combustion chamber 1, mixing of injected fuel with air is enhanced because of heating, thus ignition efficiency and combustion efficiency are improved. Since the injected fuel is heated without fail by getting in touch with the glow plug 8, starting performance of the engine during cold starting is also improved.
