CONSTITUTION: Waste liquid 10, in which sludge is mixed, flows through a waste liquid-inflow pipe 6 and an inflow-descending pipe 7 into the bottom portion of an inside tank 2. Thereafter, the waste liquid is let flow over an overflow- descending pipe 8 and introduced into the bottom portion of an outside chamber A. The waste liquid is further let flow over an overflow-descending pipe 8 attached to a partition plate 4 and introduced into the bottom portion of an outside chamber B. In this way, the waste liquid 10 is let successively overflow from the outside chamber A to an inside chamber H, and finally drained as supernatant, from which nearly all of sludge is removed, through a supernatant- out flow pipe 9 attached to the outside chamber H.
