Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a compact waste water disposer, by treating waste water with active sludge while aerating the waste water in a line mixer under pressure, and then separating the waste water into sludge and purified water in a floating vessel.
CONSTITUTION: Domestic waste water, industrial waste water or the like is reserved through a drain 1 in a waste water pit 2, where coarse solid contents are separated from the waste water by a screen 3. The separated water is fed to a line mixer 5 by a pressure pump 4. The interior of the mixer 5 is maintained under a pressure of about 3W6atm by the control of a throttle valve 9 in the medium part of a discharge pipe line 10. At the same time, compressed air is fed into the mixer 5 by a compressor 6, and active sludge in an active sludge reservoir 8 is introduced into the mixer 5 by a pump 7. The waste water, the compressed air and the active sludge are uniformly and rapidly agitated in the mixer 5. After the waste water stays in the mixer 5 for at least the minimum period necessary for its biological oxidation, the waste water is fed into a floating vessel 11, where sludge particles are adhered onto fine air bubbles and floated, to give purified water. The purified water is discharged through a drain pipe 13, while the floated sludge is taken out by a scraper 12. Part of the sludge is treated as excess sludge, while the remainder is returned to the reservoir 8. Precipitated sludge is discharged through a valve 15 at times.
