Abstract
PURPOSE:To set the height of crest and depth of trough optionally without using multiple stage rolls by providing a supporting ring that controls the depth of trough of a bellows and at the same time, providing a ring that is in contact with the supporting ring. CONSTITUTION:When an inner roll 11 and an outer roll 13 are brought into contact with a tube 10, a clearance is formed between a supporting ring 18 and a ring, and the depth of trough of a bellows is determined by the clearance. The shaft 12 of the inner roll 11 is rotated and the tube 10 is rotated by friction between the inner roll 11 and the tube 10. The outer roll 13 is rotated by friction. The shaft 12 and shaft 14 are brought near and, at the same time, axial compressive force is applied from both ends of the tube 10 by a fluid pressure cylinder 22 to prevent change in thickness. The shaft 12 and shaft 14 are further brought near and the distance between outer rolls is narrowed, and a bellows is formed by applying compressive force from both end faces of the tube 10 by the cylinder 22.
