Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the stable detection information which is free from the effect of the induction of an external noise, etc., by distributing the optical fibers of the input and output sides opposite to each other so as to realize the coupling to the inclination of an object to which the inclination is detected via a light attenuating plate. CONSTITUTION:A semicircular light attenuating plate 1 has the light transmission quantity which varies continuously in the direction from point A to point B, i.e. toward a circular circumference shown by a chain line. The face of the plate 1 is turned to a direction vertical to the inclining direction of the object to be detected and at the same time held by a supporting shaft 2 in a rotatable way so that the plate 1 always hangs down toward the gravity to be set at a constant position. Then the input and output side optical fibers 3 and 4 which are fixed to the object to be detected (not shown in the diagram) are set opposite to each other via the plate 1. Furthermore lenses 5 and 6 are provided at the tip parts of the fibers 3 and 4 to increase the detecting sensitivity.
