Abstract

PURPOSE: To more accurately perform the control of air fuel ratio by varying the response of an air fuel ratio control circuit in response to the amount of deviation of the air fuel ratio from the set air fuel ratio.
CONSTITUTION: In an air fuel ratio control circuit, deviation signals between the output signal from an exhaust gas component concentration sensor 18 and a set voltage 21 corresponding to the set air fuel ratio, are subjected to differential integration. That is, a deviation value between means value 23 of the above described deviation signals and a mean value after reversing the above deviation signals, is subjected to integration 26. When the air fuel ratio is of a value in the vicinity of the value of the set air fuel ratio, almost no deviation is introduced, and an integration signal of a substantially constant output is produced, thus the output signal from a duty ratio control circuit 29 becoming a signal for controlling the duty ratio to substantially constant value. When a deviation value is large, a signal for rapidly decreasing or increasing the duty ratio is produced from the duty ratio control circuit 29.
