Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the lowering of corrosion resistance due to the mold cavities by applying an antirust coating on the exterior parts for the watch preliminarily plated with a metal or an alloy in a vacuum condition.
CONSTITUTION: After the exterior parts for the watch produced by a casting method is subjected to the shaving and the polishing processing, the surface thereof is placed preliminarily with a metal or an alloy. Subsequently, the antirust coating is applied to the plated surface in a vacuum condition. As a variety of the plating, for example, there are Cu, Ni, Au, Ni-P or Au-Ag. The vacuum degree is pref. about 10-2W10-4 Torr. By forming the vacuum condition, oxygen is removed and, by acting the surface tension generated by releaving the vacuum condition to the atmospheric pressure, the anti-rust agent is invaded into the mold cavity to close said cavity perfectly and hermetically. Next, the placed surface and the anti-rust coating are closely adhered by heating and drying and the corrosion resistance is enhanced.
