Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively prevent the burning loss and deformation of the pallet frame of a Dwight-Lloyd type sintering machine by firing the surface of a starting material layer in the pallet, carrying out downward draft, and changing over to upward draft from the end of sintering reaction on.
CONSTITUTION: A grate protecting bed forming material and starting materials for sintered ore are successively fed into pallet P from bed layer ore feeder G and starting material ore feeder 4, respectively to form a starting material layer. The surface of the layer is fired with firing furnace 5, and while pallet P is moving to the right, most of the starting material ore is sintered by suction through wind boxes B. Upward draft is then carried out through wind boxes B from dead plate A2 to A3, and the exhaust gas is fed to food F1 through food F2 and duct 10. When the vol. of exhaust gas generated is increased, the gas is suitably released into the air from exhaust duct 13. Since the temp. of gas captured by food F3 is relatively low, the gas is released into the air as it is.
