Abstract
PURPOSE:To efficiently perform preheating and calcining of base firing material for enhancing the thermal efficiency of the whole equipment by a method wherein heat recovered in the fired-product cooling device and waste both heat from the kiln are effectively used in the process of firing powder-type base material in the rotary kiln. CONSTITUTION:When powdered base material such as cement is fired in a rotary kiln, a suspension preheater 2 with a calcining furnace 3 is installed at the base- material feeding side of the rotary kiln 1. At the fired product discharge side of the rotary kiln, a cooler 4 for the fired product is installed. High-temperature waste gas from the kiln 1 is guided to the preheater 2, high temperature air from the cooler 4 is to the calcining furnace 3, by both of which the base material in the preheater 2 is preheated. The base material is then calcined in the calcining furnace 3 and charged into the kiln 1. In the kiln waste gas duct 5, fuel from the burner 7 is combusted by high-temperature air from the cooler 4, so that the base material is precalcined. The base material is then guided to the calcining furnace 3 to complete calcining. As a result, the thermal efficiency of the firing equipment is enhanced.
