Abstract
PURPOSE:To uniform ink jet characteristics of respective nozzles by a method wherein an area of an electrode on a piezoelectric element is varied. CONSTITUTION:Continuous shallow grooves corresponding to an ink reservoir 2, ink chambers 3-14 and nozzles 15-26 are formed on a base board 1 and a thin plate 39 arranged with piezoelectric elements 41-52 is secured above the grooves. Upon printing, any one of the piezoelectric elements 41-52 is impressed with a voltage pulse and an ink droplet is injected. In case an injecting amount of the ink droplet from the nozzle 16 is bigger than the same from the nozzle 19, for example, an area of an electrode for the piezoelement 42 is reduced compared with the same for the piezoelement 45, then, injection characteristics of both of the nozzles may be made uniform.
