Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the magnetic characteristics and antiscrabbling characteristics, and to improve the bonding nature of the ferromagnetic thin film layer to the base, by taking the ground film layer inserted between the substrate and the ferromagnetic metal thin film layer as the two layer construction with specific oxide and metal.
CONSTITUTION: On the substrate made of macromolecular molding material such as polyester, the 1st ground film layer made of aluminum oxide, silicon oxide or mixture of the two is formed with a given thickness. Next, the 2nd ground film layer consisting of one or more metals of chromium, tantalium, molybdenum, nickel and germanium, is formed. The entire layer thickness of this two layer construction is 200W2,000Å. Next, the specified metal thin film layer is formed on the 2nd ground film layer. With this architecture, the 1st ground film layer is bonded with the substrate in excellent manner and since the surface of the 2nd ground film layer is smooth and fine, the ferromagnetic thin film layer is formed, which is rich in the smoothness, on it.
