Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Application of high voltage between a discharge electrode 7 and a counter electrode 1 causes to generate corona ions from the projected end 12 of the electrode 7 by the corona discharge, and the ions advance like a shower along arrows 8 in the direction of the counter electrode 1 by the repulsion of the discharge electrode 7. The gas stream flowing into the negative pressure region formed near the projected end 12 of the electrode 7 runs unilaterally in the direction of an arrow 9 from the inflow side, opposing to the corona wind, hereby no stream flows in from the outlet side, consequently the whole air exposed to the corona shower becomes polluted air thereby increasing electric charging efficiency of the floating pollutant.
