Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture flux for desulfurization and dephosphorization in steel production process by making raw material into clinker state after mixed, heated and dehydrated in the flux of quick lime-calcium chloride system.
CONSTITUTION: Raw material, such as CaCO3 or Ca(OH2) which becomes CaO by heating or CaO, is mixed with CaCl2 in a proper proportion and heated, for example, at 200°C for one hour to dehydrate. And then, this mixture is heated to a temperature of about 1,000°C above the sintering temperature and below the melting melting temperature thereof to form clinker. Thus flux for desulfurization and dephosphorization is obtained that is free from the deliquescence which CaCl2 has and so is easy to treat.
