Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of power transmission by forming a power circulation loop of two differential gear units with gears interposed, by generating torque in the circulation loop while applying external power, and then by keeping constant a difference in rotational frequency between right and left output axes of the differential gears. CONSTITUTION:With gears 42-44 interposed, two testing gear units 31 and 32 constitute a power circulation loop. The rotation of driving motor 80 of driving device 33 is transmitted to differential gear unit 31 by way of bevel gear 48 and input axis 45 and also to differential gear 32 via bevel gears 49 and 50 and input axis 46. With a torque assignment signal, constant torque is applied to differential gears 31 and 32 through torque generator 34. When input axes 45 and 46 are equal in rotational frequency N1, detectors 68 and 69, on detecting output axes 36 and 38 differing in rotational frequency from output axes 37 and 39, let rotation controller 35 make adjustment to a desired difference in rotational frequency. Consequently, the efficiency of power transmission is improved and the transmission system is simplified.
