Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to process hangul characters rapidly and easily by discriminating those characters from combinations of operated alphabet keys and then by printing or displaying those characters.
CONSTITUTION: Since Hangul characters have two kinds, S+V and C+V+C, one Hangul character can be known by checking states of four characters by consonants and vowels. Namely, when four-bit register 24 has the high-order three bits "010" and the least significant digit bit "0", the code in letter register 23 is sent to conversion logic 27 and converted into a character code because of the C+V+C type. If the least significant digit bit is "1", the corresponding code is sent to logic 27 because of the C+V type. The output of logic 27 is sent to pattern memory 28. In memory 28, character patterns that correspond to respective character codes are stored and they are read out in pattern buffer register 29 and sent to display device 30 or printer 32.
