Abstract

PURPOSE:To unnecessitate extremely high precision of the engagement surface of a horizontal shaft by fitting the horizontal shaft to the inner ring of a ball bearing having outer and inner rings, supporting the outer ring by a supporting frame and thereby raising the precision of rotation. CONSTITUTION:A telescope tube 1 containing an optical system for collimation is provided with the horizontal shaft 2 projected in the lateral direction and the tube 1 is supported at this horizontal shaft 2 by the supporting frame 7 through the intermediary of ball bearings 3 and 4. The ball bearing 3 has the inner ring 5 and the outer ring 6 and one end of the horizontal shaft is engaged with the inner ring 5, while the outer ring 6 is fitted to the supporting frame 7. Since the inner ring of the ball bearing can be made a reference surface for rotation by this constitution, the precision of rotation is improved, and thus the precision of the engaging surface of the horizontal shaft is not required to be extremely high.
