Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A quinazoline derivative of formula I (R is 2W9C alkenyl, alkynyl or 4W9C alkadienyl; n is 2 or 3) and an acid addition salt thereof.
EXAMPLE: 4- Amino-2 -( 4-crotonoyl-1-piperazinyl )-6, 7- dimethoxyquinazoline hydrochloride.hydrate.
USE: Useful for the prevention and remedy of various hypertensive diseases, e.g. essential hypertension, renal hypertension and adrenal hypertension.
PROCESS: A 2-halogenoquinazoline derivative of formula II (X is halogen) is reacted with a cyclic diamine of formula III in a solvent, e.g. benzene or toluene, at 40W 200°C, preferably 60W150°C, in the presence of triethylamine or an alkali bicarbonate, as a deacidifying agent to give the compound of formula I.
