Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formulaI(R1 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxyl or halogen; R2 and R3 are H or lower alkyl; m is 1 or 2; R1 is the above-mentioned substituent groups except H when R2 and R3 are H; n is 2 or 3) and an acid addition salt thereof.
EXAMPLE: 4-Amino-2-{4-[4-(1-phenylethoxy)benzoyl]-1-piperazinyl}-6,7-dimethoxyquinazoline hydrochloride sesquihydrate.
USE: A hypotensive agent having mild hypotensive and prolonged actions without exhibiting rapid hypotensive action such as that of prazosin.
PROCESS: A halogenoquinazoline derivative expressed by formula II (X is halogen) is condensed with a cyclic diamine derivative expressed by formula III by the dehydrohalogenating reaction to give the compound expressed by formulaI.
