NEW MATERIAL:The title derivative of the formula (at least one of R's is -CH2COOH amidated with an amino acid; the rest are H, or -CH2COOH; n is 3-1,000). USE:Antitumor agents having improved inhibitory actions particularly on solid tumors. PROCESS:Carboxymethyl-(1,3)-beta-D-glucan, obtained by the action of a carboxymethylating agent on (1,3)-beta-D-glucan having an average polymerization degree of 5-1,000, is reacted with an alpha-amino acid or a dipeptide (ester) consisting thereof to give the objective compound of the formula.
