Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent self-corrosion of aluminum negative electrode by adding polyelectrolyte having quanternary ammonium salt into alkaline electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:Polyelectrolyte having quaternary ammonium salt is added into the electrolyte of a cell employing Al in negative pole, Pt, C, Ni in positive pole while KOH, NaOH as electrolyte. Water solution of poly-4(or 2)-vinyl pyridine its salt, N-trialkil amino-methyl polystylene, etc. is employed as said polyelectrolyte.
