Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an electrically conductive heat resistant Al alloy having excellent conductivity and heat resistance by subjecting Al-Zr-Si-Fe alloy having a specific range of composition to a special heat treatment.
CONSTITUTION: The object Al alloy contains Zr: 0.15W0.28%, Si: 0.26W0.40%, Fe: 0.07W0.20% and further Y: 0.001W0.10%. Al alloy ingot of the above composition is hot rolled to produce roughly drawn wire. The wire undergoes solution heat treatment for 0.5hr or more at 580W640°C, and then is quenched by rapidly cooling to a temperature near room temperature. Then, the wire is subject to aging treatment at 300W420°C for 20hr or more, and is treated with cold working of 60% or more to produce a conductive heat-resistant Al alloy wire. By utilizing Fe to enhance heat resistance, cost increase is prevented, and addition of Y further increases heat resistance.
