Abstract
PURPOSE: To simplify operation by permitting automatic opening and closing of a cassette cover in linkage with the dismantlement or installation onto a cassette body.
CONSTITUTION: A cassette cover 2 is constituted of a main cover 2a and the sub- cover 2b which is slidable against a spring 5 in the direction of arrow (a) along the main cover 2a, and the cassette cover 2 is supported rotatably onto the shaft supporting part 1a which is arranged on the non-feeding side of a cassette box 1. On the other hand, the control part 6 is arranged on the front side of the feeding roller 10 of the image forming apparatus body. Accordingly, when the cassette box 1 is pushed-in along the cassette rack 11 on the image forming apparatus body side, the projection 2d at the top end of the sub-cover 2b contacts with the control part 6, and the sub-cover 2b is slided in the direction of arrow (a) and released, and the feeding roller 10 is received by the open part, and the uppermost sheet can be transported. Then, if the cassette box 1 is pulled-out, the sub-cover 2b is slided in the direction of closure by the spring 5.
