Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce the precision-casting mold which provides smooth casting surfaces by heating the shell layer, which is constituted by a ceramic shell layer part and a reinforcing refractory particle layer part on the outer side, in steam flow then firing the same thereby evening the thermal expansion of the foregoing both layers.
CONSTITUTION: Boric acid or boron oxide is added to the refractory slurry for the 1st and 2nd layers and a ceramic shell layer is formed on the surface of an extinction pattern. For the 3rd and subsequent layers, the refractory particle layer reinforcing the ceramic shell layer is formed by using ordinary refractory slurry. Thence, the outer shell for mold obtained in the foregoing process is heated in steam flow to sublimate boric acid or boron oxide and remove the pattern, whereby the precision casting mold which evens the thermal expansion of the ceramics shell layer and refractory particle layer is produced.
