  • Separation Using Semi-Permeable Membranes (AREA)

Abstract

PURPOSE: Treating liquid flows by using a porous film which has specific average hole diameter and has less than two times of an average particle diameter of solvent drop which does not mix water or oil in the treating liquid, and then oil is only filtered. By doing so, oil can be separated all at once.
CONSTITUTION: A porous film with average hole diameter like r≤2γE, wherein γE means average particle diameter of emulsion in the treating liquid and r means average diameter of porous film, is used. By doing so, oil can only separated. And when treating liquid flows on the porous film, it is recommended the flow speed of the liquid be more rapid and more than 1cm/sec is better. Also, it is recommended that an operating pressure P is higher, but when surface tension of the solvent which does not mix with water or oil for material is assumed to to beσ, it is better that P<2σcosθ/γ. θ means a contact angle of solvent, over raw material, which does not mix with water in various oil or oil.
