Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform a highly precise control of toner density and maintain a stable density of proper image at all times by correcting the reference frequency which compares with the resonance frequency of toner dinsity of a two-ingredient developing agent in accordance with the lapse of time, temperature, and humidity after the suspension of the operation of a copier. CONSTITUTION:Toner density is detected with the oscillation frequency of oscillator 2 as f1 by utilizing the change of reactance as well as resonance frequency due to the mixtute ratio of carrier and toner resulting from fluidizing of developing agent in the detecting coil 1, air-core solenoid coil. This toner density is compared in the comparator 3 with the reference frequency f2 from the reference oscillator 4, and if the variation exceeds a certain referecne, the toner is supplied by driving the supplier 6. The above reference frequency is corrected as follows. Namely, after the start of copier, suspension time data is sensed, and the reference frequency is corrected in accordance with the data. After the lapse of the certain time, the correction is suspended to return to the usual value, and the temperature and humidity data are sensed to correct the value according to the data. These detection and control are done by using the computer.
