Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a stable amorphous alloy with superior magnetic characteristic by limiting conditions such as temp. and time during heat treatment of an amorphous alloy of a specific compsn.
CONSTITUTION: Ribbon-shaped sample 3 is made of amorphous alloy having a compsn. of (FeaNibCoc)zTyBx (where a; 0.02W0.15, b≤0.3, c=1-a-b, x; 0.15W 0.3, C=1-a-b, x; 0.15W0.3, y≤0.04 and z=1-x-y) by centrifugal quenching or the like. Sample 3 is then placed between solenoids 1, 1 capable of forming a max. magnetic field of 1500 Oe with a uniformity of 3%, and it is heat treated with non- induction furnace 2. The heat treatment conditions are as follows; temp. θ≥300°C and time t≥0.1 hr, and in case of y≤0.025, the conditions further satisfy θ<-25t +375°C at which crystallization does not occur. Thus, a stable amorphous alloy can be obtd. which has superior magnetic characteristics and is applicable to magnetic heads, etc.
