Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a generation of angular protrusion in inside angle of flat square copper wire after winding, by such means that with a chamfering applied in a specific dimension to a corner of the flat square copper wire wound in an edgewise direction, a winding be so made for the chamfered corner as to be inside.
CONSTITUTION: When constructing a field coil with a flat square copper wire 6 wound in an edgewise direction, a chamfering is previously applied before winding to a corner to be inside of the coil of the flat square copper wire 6. The dimension of chamfering is so made that a plate thickness-way dimension t may be below half the flat square copper wire thickness and a breadthwise dimension w within a range of 1.5 to 2.0 times the plate thickness. In such construction, after cutting an increase of the thickness due to a widing, a flat square copper wire 6A will be provided with a chamfered part slightly remaining in the inside, eliminating a generation of angular protrusion in the inside angle part, thus capable of preventing insulation demages between turns.
