Abstract

PURPOSE: To allow a control valve which opens and closes a bypass passage to be operated by means of thermowax which is heated by a constant temperature heating element of which electric power consumption is small.
CONSTITUTION: When thermowax 25 is heated by the operation of a constant temperature heating element 40, an operating rod 26 is pushed upward due to the expansion of wax. Then, a taper valve 20 is shifted upward through a piston 21 against a return spring 27, and the gap between a valve seat 20a is contracted gradually. When a certain heating time elapses after turning an ignition switch 49 ON, the taper valve 20 closely contacts with the valve seat 20a, and a bypass passage closes, and the amount of inhaled air which bypasses throttle valves 13a and 13b becomes zero. In other words, auxiliary air is supplied until the time when the taper valve 20 is closed.
