Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure the mechanical strength of a aquirrel-cage rotor against the centrifugal force and to reduce the weight of the rotor by reducing the radii of a plurality of conductor groove arranging position on the rotor iron core at both the axial ends smaller than the center and connecting a shorting ring of reduced outer diameter to the rotor conductor cast with aluminum.
CONSTITUTION: This silicon steel plates fromed with numerous grooves at the outer periphery thereof are axially laminated to form a cylindrical iron core 3. There are additonally provided aluminum rotor conductors 5 cast in the respective grooves of the core 3, aluminum shorting rings 6 cast simultaneously with the conductors 5 at both axial ends of the core 3, and a retainer ring 7 for reinforcing the rings 6 at a squirrel-cage rotor. The conductors 5 are so disposed as to be as outer peripheral portion as possible at the center portion 31 of the core 3 and as to be inner radial side at both the ends 32 of the core 3 to bend the axial change of the conductors 5 at both ends. Thus, it can reduce the outer diameter of the shorting ring 6 so as to reduce the centrifugal stress of the ring 6 without deteriorating the characteristic. Thus, it can afford the radial size of the ring 7 so as to secure the mechanical strength of the rotor and also to reduce the weight of the rotor.
