Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of an end ring due to centrifugal force and thermal stress by pad welding the end of a rotor bar to a rotor core to form an end ring. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of slots 1a are formed on the outer periphery of a core 1 secured to a rotating shaft 2, and rotor bars 3 made, for example, of copper alloy are so inserted into the slots 1a as to project from the end face of the core 1. A metal is fusion-bonded, for example, by a plasma whlding to between the bars 3 adjacent to the end face of the core 1, to the ends of the bars 3 and to the periphery of the bar 3 to form an end ring 4. Since the end ring 4 can be fusion-bonded metallurgically integrally to the core 1 in this manner, it can prevent the deformation due to the centrifugal force and thermal stress.
