Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the bad influence of delay characteristic in the transmission system of clamp pulses by generating clamp pulses from reset noise compensating signals in the image pickup unit using a CCD image sensor.
CONSTITUTION: CCD image sensor 1 gives video signal S, which includes reset noise, to differential amplifier 3 from terminal 1a at every one picture element by a pulse from driving circuit 2, and gives reset noise compensating signal SC to differential amplifier 3 from output terminal 1b at every one picture element. Signal SVO where reset noise is eliminated is outputted as the output of differential amplifier 3, and this signal is applied to amplifier 5 through capacitor 6. Compensating signal SC is given to comparator 8 through capacitor 7, and the comparison output is given to clamp pulse generator 9, thereby generating pulses to control clamp circuit 4.
