Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain simply and cheaply a zinc-plated sheet with good adherence by carrying out special vacuum plating in plating a steel sheet, etc. with zinc to perfectly prevent formation of oxide between the sheet and zinc plating. CONSTITUTION:After raising the surface roughness of sheet 1 as usual, sheet 1 is fed to reduction furnace 3 under a reducing atmosphere of H-N mixed gas to remove oxide, followed by cooling to below 300 deg.C in cooling furnace 4 under the same atmosphere and one-side zinc plating in first vacuum chamber 6 with a vacuum degree of 10<-2>-10<-6> Torr adjacent to vacuum sealed part 5. In case of two- side plating, the sheet is plated in second vacuum chamber 7 and fed to vacuum sealed part 8. The zinc plating is carried out by cacuumde position and/or ion plating in an atmosphere of Ar gas at 1000-3000 V. Coolers are attached to rolls and parts 5, 8 before and behind chambers 6, 7 to prevent re-evaporation of plated zinc. Next the zinc-plated sheet is alloyed under a reducing gas of 300-450 deg.C in heat treatment furnace 10 to obtain simply and cheaply a zinc-plated sheet with good adherence.
