Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve various properties such as wear resistance and maneuverability or the like of the tread of a radial tire using alamide fiber by forming multifilament of denier in special range from alamide fiber with higher than predetermined tensile strength and initial modulus.
CONSTITUTION: The belt material of a radial tire employs a cord of parallel oriented alamide fibrous multifilament having more than 15 g/d tensile strength and higher than 300 g/d initial modulus as 2 to 5d filament. The above parallel oriented alamide is a polymer in which one or more aromatic group is bonded directly by amide group so that two valency aromatic group bonding groups are coaxially oppositely disposed by aromatic ring such as 1,4-phenylene,4,4'-biphenylene or parallel-axially oppositely disposed as 1,5-naphthylene,2,6-naphthylene.
