Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an R- or W-shaped characteristic, fanwise direction of a stream from a nozzle by providing two additional horizontal grooves to a lip-shaped orifice formed by the intersection of a dome-shaped recessed surface and a vertical groove so as to form a nearly patriarchal cross-shaped orifice. CONSTITUTION:A main nozzle body 1 is provided with a hole 4 consisting of a dome-shaped recess surface 2 and a passage 3 widening toward the rear end thereof. A relatively deep vertical groove 5 is provided on the front end of the main nozzle body 1 diametrically of the dome-shaped surface 2 at such a depth that its bottom surface lies near or slightly intersecting the passage 3, while two relatively shallow grooves 6a and 6b are provided oppositely on each side of the diameter of the dome-shaped recess surface 2 and intersecting perpendicularly to the vertical groove 5 at such a depth that their bottom surfaces lie slightly intersecting the dome-shaped recess surface 2, thereby forming a nearly patriarchal cross-shaped orifice type tip 7.
